John Stott

As the year comes to a close it is interesting to discover who reads my posts. I do not know their names but I do know where they live. The largest group are in the USA. The second largest group of readers are in Ghana. Then comes Germany, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Canada, India, the Philippines, New Zealand and China. Wherever you are I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. May the Lord bless you and keep you. The Gospel is universal. God’s love and purpose is for everybody of every nationality. St. John the Divine tells us that the Holy City, the New Jerusalem is filled with the light of Christ, “The nations will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.” (Revelation 21:24,26) The church is growing in the most unexpected places. I support the Langham Partnership which was founded by John Stott to support the training and ministries of Christian pastors and teachers throughout the world (www.langham.org). I was privileged to be the first president of it in the USA in the 1970’s. It sends 3,328 pastors to training seminars in 22 countries. It supplies thousands of books to 195 colleges in 20 countries and supplies scholarships to Christian leaders for their graduate education.I am reading an Advent Devotional from the Global Church which Langham Partnership produces. Its 25 contributors comes from Hungary, Israel, india, Egypt, Kenya, Croatia, Ethiopia, Philippines, Pakistan, Guyana, Thailand, Nigeria, Ukraine, Malaysia, Ghana, Mongolia, Poland, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you are looking to support an invaluable Christian ministry at the end of the year you could not do better for world peace and the Gospel than support the Langham Partnership.
